Zavod Hydromekhanizatsii's dredger for Seliger Lake cleaning

Outdoor recreation in Russian wilderness areas becomes much popular year by year. Where else could you disappear from daily city vanity?! But in its turn development of tourism needs people to be environmental friendly. Russian water balance support, maintenance of river channels, dredging and bank stabilization are the most important tasks for preservation of the environment. Zavod Hydromekhanizatsii’s dredgers have been made and worked to this effect more than 56 year.

According to this September contract, Zavod Hydromekhanizatsii is going to construct a dredger "Malysh" for Seliger Lake cleaning in October, 2006.

A dredger of the project 3350 "MK" is being supplied for "Seliger-S" company. The dredger is completing with diesel-electrical engine, mechanical ripping mode and a pipeline Du-200 the overall length 300 m. Dredger of the project 3350 "MK" with 400 cub m/hr of slurry pipeline output and has combined hydraulic or mechanical ripping mode. It is optimal for Seliger Lake because its bed consists of silt and clay.

Primarily the dredger is going to make cleaning and dredging works near Ostashkov town recreation area. Small dimensions of the dredger allow removing it assembled by all types of transport that’s why in the following it can be used for ship fairway deepening and cleaning works in other recreation areas in the lake.

Commercial director of Zavod Hydromekhanizatsii А.V. Markov has said: "Protection and reconstruction of recreation areas in Russia become very important problems. On the one hand people would like to spend rare weekends with profit to their health, but on the other hand – tourist industry has big potential for Russian economy. Seliger is the one of Russian tourist resort areas and we are glade to know that our equipment will help to make this national endow much beautiful and interesting for journey and rest".
